Robinson group (vase painters)

The Robinson group is one with a provisional names designated group Attic vase painter who v to 430-420. Chr. Panathenaic prize amphorae produced. It is named after three amphorae that were formerly in the collection of David Moore Robinson .

The vessels are decorated with black figures in the tradition of the price amphora , at a time when only red-figure vases were actually produced. For stylistic reasons, the vases can be assigned to the Kleophon painter and his circle.
