Robson Alves da Silva , often just Robson , (born November 3, 1986 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian soccer player.

Career

Robson comes from the youth department of Flamengo Rio de Janeiro and joined the professional squad in 2004. In 2007 the midfielder, whose strengths lie in the duel and the opening of the game, was released from his contract and played the following year for AD Cabofriense and Operário FC in lower class professional leagues .

At the end of 2008, Robson was spotted by Miron Bleiberg , coach of the Australian club Gold Coast United , during a scouting trip and signed with compatriot Jefferson . When Jefferson injured himself in the pre-season, Gold Coast signed Robson's brother Anderson Alves da Silva as a replacement. The former Brazilian U-15 and U-17 international scored a goal on his league debut against Brisbane Roar .
