Jefferson Charles de Souza Pinto , short Jefferson (born March 28, 1982 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian soccer player .
Career
Jefferson played in the youth department of Flamengo Rio de Janeiro between 1997 and 2001 before moving to Criciúma EC in the Série B in 2002 . After stays at Olaria AC (2003 to 2005) and Atlético Roraima Clube (2006 to 2007), he was spotted by Miron Bleiberg , coach of the Australian club Gold Coast United , during a scouting trip and signed with compatriot Robson for the 2009/10 season .
Before the start of the league, he suffered a serious knee injury and was out for several months. It was only on the 13th match day that he made his competitive debut against North Queensland Fury . Further knee complaints that he had treated in Brazil ultimately led to the premature termination of his contract with Gold Coast in February 2010. His next known station was Trem Desportivo in the Série D in 2012 .
