The castle loop Rain is the ruins of a hilltop castle in the municipal area of the municipality Kemmental in canton Thurgau . It is located at 481 m above sea level. M. on a hill and surrounded by ravines of Kemmenbach and another creek and was probably built in the 12th century.
In the 1960s, excavations were carried out which exposed the foundations of a tower and an extension. Nothing is known about the ownership structure to this day. It is believed that the castle belonged to the Lords of Hugelshofen, servants of the Bishop of Constance .
