The hub in Fruthwilen

The Hubberg Castle is in Thurgau village Fruthwilen , community Salenstein .

The castle was first mentioned in 1377. Since 1399 the estate has been owned by the Canons of St. Johann in Constance . In 1580 it was bought by the nobleman Gabriel Reichlin von Meldegg, under whom it had received the status of an outdoor seating area and was now called "Huebberg". After a few changes of ownership, the castle was sold to farmers in Fruthwil in 1799. Since then, the building has remained in the hands of the farmers and has been inhabited by several families. After the Second World War, Hans Leip rented the Hubberg for twenty years. A wall painting by him still exists today on the 2nd floor.

The double house, which was redesigned inside Baroque style at the beginning of the 18th century, consists of two almost identical halves with large arched portals. It has two solid floors and one half-timbered floor .
