Rocca is an impact crater on the westernmost edge of the lunar front , southwest of Grimaldi crater and northwest of Darwin . The crater wall is heavily eroded, especially in the north and west, the crater floor is furrowed and uneven.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Italian mathematician Giovanni Antonio Rocca .
