Rochelle Majer Krich

Rochelle Majer Krich (* 1947 in Bayreuth ) is an American writer.

Life

Krich was born in Germany as the daughter of a Holocaust survivor . She grew up in New Jersey and New York before her family moved to Los Angeles in 1960 . There she studied at the University of California, Los Angeles and received her master’s degree. Subsequently, she taught English as a high school teacher for 18 years . She also headed the English department at Yeshiva University of Los Angeles High Schools . For her work, she received the Milken Families Foundation Award for Distinguished Educator of the Year and the Samuel Belkin Memorial Award for professional achievement .

Krich began her writing career in 1990 with Where's Mommy Now? For this she received the Anthony Award in 1991 in the category " Best Paperback Novel ". In 1995 the book was filmed under the title Perfect Alibi .

In the course of her further career she published a variety of other books and short stories, many of which were nominated for awards. Three books were nominated for the Agatha Award as her five-part Jessie Drake series . The fourth volume in the series, Dead Air , received the Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award for Best Mystery or Suspense . The books Blues in the Night and Dream House as their Molly Blume series were also nominated for the Agatha Award. The third volume in this series, Grave Endings , won the 2005 Mary Higgins Clark Award and the Left Coast Crime Calavera Award . Krich's books have meanwhile been translated into several languages.

Krich is married and has six children. She is a member of the American Crime Writers League .
