Rochus Aust

Rochus Aust (born October 29, 1968 in Recklinghausen ) is a German trumpeter and composer from Cologne .

Life

Rochus Aust studied in Trossingen , Cologne and London a . a. Musicology and is at home as a composer in new, serious music, experiment jazz and pop, film and television music, as well as video and sound installations.

Aust founded the brass sextet brass of the moving image in 1995 and has been its artistic director ever since.

In 2009 he wrote the work On Boats and Trees for the 32nd German Evangelical Church Congress in Bremen . Von Booten und Baum is a piece for choirs and soloists. The staging formed the end of the street festival evening of encounter .

On October 1st, 2016 Rochus Aust opened the radio revolten - the international radio art festival - together with the 1st German Electricity Orchestra and a live open air performance of his 8th symphony on the market square in Halle (Saale) .
