Rockney Ridge is a rocky ridge on the Hobbs Coast of Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . In the Demas Range it rises on the northeast side of Mount Goorhigian .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1974 after Vaughn D. Rockney, a meteorologist at Byrd Station from 1968 to 1969.
