Rockstown Castle ( Irish Caisleán Bhaile na Carraige ) is the ruins of a medieval Tower Houses 5 km south of the village of Ballyneety which about 11 km south-southeast of Limerick in Ireland's County Limerick lies.
description
The tower with a square floor plan stands on a rocky elevation. It has five floors. Most of the building is intact, but the opening of the entrance door on the ground floor, where the machine was located, has broken out. A trench has been cut in the rock directly in front of the entrance door .
The first floor is missing, but the ceiling is vaulted . The windows in the corners have deep reveals. In one corner there is a spiral staircase that leads to the roof and receives its light through small, slit-shaped windows. The room on the second floor has an open fireplace in one corner, but the ceiling above is missing. The third floor also has a vaulted ceiling.
On the top floor there are three windows with round arches. Two window openings are still intact, the third badly damaged. The roof is missing, but consoles are still visible where it once was. On the roof there is a small tourelle on one corner .
