The Rodalber Felsenwanderweg is located in the middle of the Palatinate Forest Nature Park . It leads on partly narrow, natural forest paths as well as wide forest paths around the town of Rodalben. The rock formations made of red sandstone , which are over 120 to 50 m high and sometimes 500 m long, are characteristic of the rocky hiking trail and are located along the entire hiking trail.

Brother rock

By erosion , the visible part of the hillside rock - the largest part of which is underground - was formed into two sand pillars that look like two brothers.

Old castle

Rock massif; According to historical researcher Daniel Häberle , the old castle is a prehistoric refuge to which the Celtic indigenous population of the entire valley could retreat in an emergency.

Bear cave

Largest natural rock cave in the Palatinate. Like the Karlstal layers that repeatedly emerge as bands of rock along the Langenbach valley, it is assigned to the middle red sandstone . The Bärenfels spring rises about 20 m above the cave and falls over a rock bank below into a stone-lined basin.

Other rocks are described on the rock hiking trail homepage.
