Rodman Philbrick

Rodman Philbrick (* 1951 in Boston , Massachusetts ) is an American author who writes both youth and adult novels.

Life

Rodman Philbrick, born in 1951, grew up as the eldest of four brothers in Rye Beach , where he also went to school. 1969 followed the high school Accounts at the Portsmouth High School . Among other things, he worked as a carpenter, boat builder and dock worker. On the side he wrote about ten novels, but couldn't find a publisher interested in publication. "St. Martins Press ” finally signed a contract with him for his first book in 1978. In 1980 he married the author Lynn Harnett.

Several of Philbrick's novels are set in seaside areas, such as Slow Dancer , Brothers & Sinners and Freak , to which he later wrote a sequel, Max the Mighty . He and his wife have been working on a number of series of books for young readers, while continuing to write thrillers for adults.

Rodman Philbrick is a member of the Mystery Writers of America and the Writers Guild of America and the owner of the Portsmouth Athenaeum.
