Embraze is a Finnish heavy metal band from Kiiminki .

Band history

In 1994 Lauri Tuohimaa ( Charon , For My Pain ... ), Ilkka Leskelä, Petri Henell and Mikko Aaltonen founded their band called Embrace . Aaltonen left the band the next year, and Juha Rytkönen came for him. The first demo Allotria was recorded and shortly afterwards the band keyboardist Heidi Määttää joined in. Two more demos followed in 1996 and the band won a local rock band competition.

After the fourth demo IV , Juha and Petri left the band in 1997 and were replaced by Janne Regelin and Janne Räsänen. The band got a record deal with Mastervox Records , but had to change their name because of the English band Embrace and solved the problem by turning the "c" into a "z" - the new name was now Embraze . The debut album Laeh was released in 1998.

In 1999 the Regelin and Räsänen left the band. The second album, Intense , was released in the spring of the same year and after a while together, guitarist Markus Uusitalo and bassist Toni Kaisto were accepted into the band, but had to leave the band again in 2000. Sami Siekkinen and Olli-Pekka Karvonen were found to replace them.

Since Lauri was still in the military and Heidi Määttä accompanied Eternal Tears of Sorrow as keyboard player on their European tour Nightwish and Sinergy , a short break was announced. In 2001, however, Endless Journey, a version of Intense intended for the European market, was released.

For Low Frequency Records in 2002, the third album was released catharsis and the next military contingent break came.

In 2004, Embraze released Promo '04 . In the meantime, Lauri Tuohimaa also worked for For My Pain ... and joined Charon. Since the Finnish thrash metal band Maple Cross needed a drummer, Ilkka Leskelä joined them and in 2005 Sami Siekkinen joined them. Meanwhile, Embraze were still working on their fourth album.

In July 2006 the song Branded was first offered as a download on the Internet , and on August 16 the album The Last Embrace was released on Verikauha Records .
