Rodney M. Feldmann

Rodney Mansfield Feldmann (born November 19, 1939 in Steele ) is an American geologist and paleontologist .

Feldmann studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1957/58 and then at the University of North Dakota with a bachelor's degree in 1961, a master's degree in 1963 and a doctorate in paleontology in 1967. During the summer, he worked for the North Dakota highway authority and the North Dakota Geological Survey. From 1965 he was an instructor, 1967 assistant professor, 1971 associate professor and 1975 professor at Kent State University . In 2001 he retired and from 2006 he was curator for paleontology.

Feldmann deals with paleontology of invertebrates, especially crustaceans . Among other things, he did research in Antarctica. In 2001 he received the Leonard Medal from the University of North Dakota.

In 1993 he was President of the Paleontological Society .
