Paleontological Society

The Paleontological Society is an American society for paleontology founded in Baltimore in 1908 with an international focus (they have members from over 40 countries). It has five regional subdivisions (Pacific Coast, Rocky Mountains, Northeastern, North Central, Southeastern).

Her awards include the Paleontological Society Medal and Charles Schuchert Awards, and for non-professional paleontologists, the Harrell L. Strimple Award . Their annual general meetings are held with those of the Geological Society of America . They have a membership magazine (newsletter) Priscum and publish the Journal of Paleontology and Paleobiology and a number of special publications .

The organization is based in Boulder (Colorado) .
