Edward Martin Kindle

Edward Martin Kindle (born March 10, 1869 in Franklin (Indiana) , † August 29, 1940 in Ottawa ) was an American geologist ( sedimentology ) and paleontologist .

Kindle studied at Indiana University , Cornell University and Yale University , was with the US Geological Survey and from 1912 as an invertebrate paleontologist at the Geological Survey of Canada , where he headed the paleontology department from 1919 to 1938.

He dealt with Paleozoic fossils in the central north of the USA, in northern Canada, Alaska and Greenland (whereby he set up a catalog of Devonian cephalopods in North America) and later with sedimentology.

In 1933 he was President of the Paleontological Society .
