Roger Beckamp
Roger Friedrich Nikolaus Beckamp (born July 18, 1975 in Cologne ) is a German lawyer and politician of the AfD . In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2017 , he was elected to second place in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .
education and profession
Roger Beckamp studied at several universities jurisprudence , most recently at the Humboldt University of Berlin . After the first state examination, he started studying real estate economics at the European Business School Oestrich-Winkel / Berlin and graduated as a real estate economist. Beckamp has been studying again since the 2014/15 winter semester, this time as a part-time master's degree in “Construction Law and Construction Management” at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg .
After his legal clerkship in Hamburg , he worked for a law firm in the field of real estate, construction and tenancy law for several years. He also worked for a real estate company and property management company for several years as an authorized representative . He has been working as a lawyer since 2006 and has been an independent lawyer in Cologne since 2012.
In 2015 and 2016 he taught at the Hochschule Fresenius in Cologne. From 2015 to 2017 Beckamp held lectures on building and architectural law at the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning in Bonn.
politics
Roger Beckamp joined the AfD in March 2013 and has been a member of the Cologne City Council for the AfD since 2014. He is chairman of the Cologne AfD council group. In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2017 , he ran as a direct candidate in the Cologne II state constituency as well as in second place on the state list through which he was elected to the state parliament.
Together with other members of the AfD state parliament, he went on a trip to the Crimea peninsula, which has been annexed by Russia since 2014 . He denied that the Crimea was occupied by Russia and called for an end to the sanctions against Russia.
Beckamp runs his own YouTube channel, on which he regularly uploads videos of his state parliament speeches or interviews. The interviews are mainly filmed on the street at AfD events or at events by AfD opponents. The channel opened on August 1, 2018 and now has more than 30,000 subscribers.
Private
Roger Beckamp is divorced and has one son. He lives in Cologne.
