Roger Bureau
Roger Eugène Bureau (* Antwerp , February 1, 1909 ; † April 11, 1945 in a POW camp ) was a Belgian ice hockey player , speed skater and war victim .
Career
Roger Bureau participated for the Belgian national team in the Olympic Winter Games in St. Moritz in 1928 and in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1936 . With his team, he finished eighth of eleven places in 1928. He himself was used in three games during the tournament. At the 1936 Winter Games, he finished 13th and last with Belgium. At club level he played for CPA Antwerp .
During World War II , Bureau served on the Allied side. On April 21, 1944, he was captured near the French-Spanish border, taken to a German prison camp and executed in April 1945.
