Karl Fouquet

Karl Fouquet (born January 1, 1855 in Ferdinandshof ; † September 27, 1937 in Verden (Aller) ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Fouquet passed the Abitur in Stettin at Easter 1874 . He enrolled at the Philipps University of Marburg for law. At the same time he joined the Kurhessisches Jäger Battalion No. 11 as a one-year volunteer . On 20 February 1875 he was in the Corps Hasso Nassovia recipiert . He decided on a military career and in 1877 became second lieutenant in the 2nd Baden Field Artillery Regiment No. 30 , in 1887 Premier Lieutenant in the field artillery regiment "von Scharnhorst" (1st Hannoversches) No. 10 , in 1891 a captain in the field artillery regiment "von Clausewitz" "(1. Upper Silesian) No. 21 . In 1893 he was transferred to the 2nd Lorraine Field Artillery Regiment No. 34 and in 1901 promoted to major . Since September 19, 1901 he was department commander in the 2nd Baden Field Artillery Regiment No. 30, in 1909 he was lieutenant colonel , in 1910 commander of the 2nd Lower Silesian field artillery regiment No. 41 , in 1911 colonel , in 1914 commander of the 2nd field artillery brigade of the 2nd. Division in Insterburg .

From 1914 to 1917 he took part in the First World War. Fouquet became major general on August 22, 1914 and commander of the 12th Division on August 12, 1916 . On February 16, 1917 he received his farewell. On January 28, 1919 he was given the character of Lieutenant General. He spent his retirement in Verden.
