The Rogers Head is a prominent point of land on the north coast of the island Heard . It forms the northern branch of the Azorella Peninsula between Atlas Cove and Corinthian Bay .

The cape is named after the Rogers family from New London , Connecticut , particularly after Captain James H. Rogers, skipper of the brig Zoe , and her first mate Henry Rogers, who in 1856 led a crew that became the first people to winter on Heard. The name appears on maps made by US seal hunters.
