Roland A. Caspary

Roland A. Caspary (born August 5, 1931 in Nohfelden / St. Wendel district ; † May 19, 2013 ) was a German film politician.

The economics graduate (studies in Mainz ) headed the federal public institution Federal Film Board (FFA), headquartered in Berlin from 1968 to 1995. He was instrumental in the development of the film funding law involved (FFG) and the establishment of the FFA.

Awards

For the Franco-German television agreement, Roland A. Caspary was awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres with the rank of knight by the then French Minister for Culture Jack Lang .

In August 1989, Caspary was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon by the German President Richard von Weizsäcker for his many years of work in the interests of the film .

On February 13, 1995, he received the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class from the German President Roman Herzog . In 1995 Roland A. Caspary was awarded the SPIO Medal of Honor from the leading organization in the film industry .
