Roland Goriupp (born April 24, 1971 in Graz ) is a former Austrian soccer player and current coach .

Athletic career

Roland Goriupp began his career at Grazer AK (GAK), where he went through all junior stations from the U-8 team. When at the end of March 1989 the two goalkeepers from Graz were out due to injuries, Goriupp made his first Bundesliga appearance against SK Rapid Wien at the age of 17 . After the established goalkeepers returned, Goriupp had to return to the U21 team and thus completed a total of eight Bundesliga games in the top Austrian division for his home club.

After the GAK was relegated to the second highest league in 1989/90 , Goriupp quickly became the new goalkeeper. When the club just failed to get promoted in the promotion playoff in the spring of 1993, the young goalkeeper decided to move to the top division to local rivals SK Sturm Graz , where he won the cup in 1996 and 1997 . The Grazer was also used in the 1997/98 championship season of SK Sturm.

For the 1998/99 season the goalkeeper moved from Sturm to DSV Leoben in the second highest division in Austria.

In 2001 he switched to FC Kärnten, who had just been promoted to the top division . With the Klagenfurt team he immediately won the Austrian Supercup in the first competitive match (10: 9 on penalties after 0: 0 in regular time against BL champions FC Tirol Innsbruck).

In Carinthia he was the regular goalkeeper until 2004, before he was replaced by the Croatian Pavlovic as a goalkeeper. After FC Kärnten was relegated this season, Goriupp played another year as a substitute goalie in Klagenfurt. In the 2005/06 season he moved to the third-class regional division SK St. Andrä .

In June 2008 Roland Goriupp ended his active professional career and opened the Styrian Goalie Academy in Graz with the support of the Styrian Football Association . At the same time, he took on the vacant position of goalkeeper coach at his home club GAK until 2009.

Roland Goriupp has been an ÖFB-certified goalkeeper coach since 2009, currently goalkeeper trainer for the ÖFB-U21 national team and since 2012 goalkeeper training manager at the Austrian Bundesliga club SK Sturm Graz . Roland Goriupp becomes head of goalkeeper trainer training.

National team

Despite numerous appearances in the U21 team and multiple A-team nominations, Roland Goriupp only played an active role in the ÖFB team in the 6-2 defeat against Germany in Leverkusen.
