Roland Muri describes his work as pop expressionism. "Pop expressionism makes use of the advertising aesthetics of Pop Art on the one hand and the emotional, intuitive expressiveness of abstract expressionism with content on the other." Muri works in groups of works, each of which has a fixed theme.

His main subjects are: the flag pictures, homage à Picasso, comics, the Goths, flowers, still lifes, nudes, icons, children's area and story pictures. In addition to the works on canvas in oil and acrylic, Muri created larger groups of photographic works, drawings, serigraphs and lithographs.

When moving his main warehouse in 2009, Muri destroyed his works on paper (photos, drawings, serigraphs and lithographs). Muri's artistic work, which is now in private and public collections (USA, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, Austria, Japan, China, Czech Republic, Morocco and Sweden) is practically limited to paintings on canvas and Acrylic works on paper.
