Roland Reiss

Roland Reiss (born May 15, 1929 in Chicago ) is an American painter and installation artist .

life and work

Roland Reiss was born into a working-class family in 1929. In 1943 his family moved to Pomona , California . Reiss has taught at the University of California, Los Angeles , the University of Colorado, and Claremont Graduate University . He lives in Venice, Los Angeles .

In 1975 Reiss exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. Roland Reiss took part in documenta 7 in Kassel with the works Adventure in the Painted Desert, a Murder Story (1976), The Dance Lessons: Tap Dance Furiose (1978) and Security Specifically (1980) .

Roland Reiss has been painting flowers since 2000.
