Roland Schubert (philosopher)

Roland Schubert (born September 10, 1936 in Radis ; † September 17, 1996 in Magdeburg ) was a German philosopher and university professor . He was a member of the commission of the Political Advisory Committee of the Warsaw Parties.

Life

Robert Schubert was born in Radis in the Prussian province of Saxony and experienced the effects of the Second World War as a child. After attending school, he went to the Karl Marx University in Leipzig to major in philosophy. In 1959 he became a scientific assistant at the University of Heavy Engineering in Magdeburg, where he mainly carried out philosophical seminars and exercises. In 1966 Robert Schubert became the science organizer of the philosophy department there. In September 1968 he took over the leadership of the philosophy teaching group in the Marxism-Leninism section of the Magdeburg University of Technology . Two months later, on 28 November 1968 he was at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Technical University of Magdeburg for Dr. phil. PhD. His dissertation on the subject of the nature and function of socialist partisanship as a way of thinking and behavior of socialist personalities comprises 135 pages. From then on, Roland Schubert was responsible for the loyal further education of civic education teachers in the GDR district of Magdeburg and presented several publications on the problem of social awareness in the GDR. In addition, he supervised several doctoral students and worked at the Marxist-Leninist evening school for university teachers in Magdeburg. He was also a member of the Commission of the Political Advisory Committee of the Warsaw Contracting States.

On September 1, 1988, he was appointed associate professor at the "Otto von Guericke" Magdeburg University of Technology by the GDR Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Hans-Joachim Böhme . Just a few days after his 60th birthday, Robert Schubert died in Magdeburg in 1996.
