Rolf Benz

Rolf Benz (born September 13, 1933 in Nagold ) is a German entrepreneur and former owner of the Chinese furniture company Jason Furniture (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. owned by Rolf Benz AG & Co. KG .

Rolf Benz completed an apprenticeship as an upholsterer from 1948 to 1951 . From 1951 he took over the responsibility for the upholstery manufacture in his uncle's company, where he was responsible for production and sales. On May 20, 1964, he founded BMP GmbH ( Benz Möbel Program ; today Rolf Benz AG & Co. KG) for the manufacture of upholstered furniture .

In 1993, Rolf Benz and his family bought Walter Knoll , one of the oldest upholstered furniture manufacturers in Germany. Since 2001 he has been chairman of the supervisory board of Walter Knoll AG & Co. KG. He is married and has children. On January 31, 2008, Rolf Benz received the Federal Cross of Merit (Cross of Merit on Ribbon) for his work in the Baden-Württemberg business location.

On November 21, 2013, the district of Calw, as the school authority, renamed its Nagold vocational school after Rolf Benz.
