Rolf Cyriax
Rolf Cyriax (born February 15, 1938 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German Germanist , publisher's editor , caricaturist and non-fiction author .
Life
Rolf Cyriax studied German and English at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He received his doctorate (Dr. phil.) In 1967 at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg with his dissertation on the English playwright William Somerset Maugham . The doctoral thesis was published in 1967 in Freiburg im Breisgau as a monograph . From 1968 he worked in Munich as press spokesman for the German version of the US musical Hair .
He then worked from 1972 in Munich at Süddeutscher Verlag , which at that time also owned the Paul List and Südwest book publishers . After working in the press office, in 1979 he switched to the editing department, where Rolf Cyriax could devote himself to cartoons and caricatures. He wrote the first books together with Dieter Hanitzsch , then founded the book series Joke, Satire and Cartoon at Südwest Verlag and published several books on humor.
In 1982 he moved to Droemer Verlag , where he was responsible for the political non-fiction book and worked with Karl Blessing from 1983 to 1995 . From 1988 to 1990 he was the editor of the library of German values . Most recently, he worked for Karl Blessing Verlag from 1995 until the transition into retirement in 2007.
