Rolf Dietrich

Rolf Dietrich (born July 6, 1933 in Meißen ; † March 14, 2012 in Dresden ) was a German actor.

Life

Rolf Dietrich was born in Meißen in 1933. After attending school, he learned the trade of a machinist. But his acting talent was soon recognized and he began to study acting for several years at the State Drama School in Berlin, which later became the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . He then embarked on a theater career. He got his first employment at the theater in Stendal , then in Lutherstadt Eisleben . At the State Theater Cottbus he played from 1961, inter alia, in Minna von Barnhelm . In 1969 Rolf Dietrich moved to the Dresden State Theaterwhere he worked for over 30 years as an actor and most recently as chairman of the staff council. He appeared there in the drama Die Büchse der Pandora (from 1983), Moving Into the Castle , in Friedrich Schiller's Die Jungfrau von Orleans and Bertolt Brecht's Die Heiligen Johanna der Schlachthöfe .

In addition to his theater appearances, he also took on smaller roles in film and television in the GDR . In 1993, the then 60-year-old Rolf Dietrich was last seen in a crime scene episode on television.
