Rolf Funda

Rolf Funda (born July 15, 1940 in Berka ) is a German politician ( SED , PDS ). From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament .

Education and life

After attending secondary school and graduating from high school, Rolf Funda did his three years of military service with the "Feliks Dzierzynski" guard regiment and was a bodyguard in the SED Central Committee during this time . He then studied veterinary medicine, passed the state examination as a veterinarian and completed his studies with a doctorate. As a student, he was a candidate for the Ministry of State Security . A serious illness ended his career before he was even deployed. After studying at a distance, he became a specialist veterinarian. From 1968 to 1971 he worked as a general practitioner and from 1972 to 1990 as a district veterinarian. He was dismissed from this position with the turnaround and peaceful revolution in the GDR because of his service in the guard regiment. From 1985 to 1989 he was honorary chairman of the district executive committee of the VKSK . In August 2012 he founded the Memory Library Association, which collects GDR biographies. The books have since been handed over to the Federal Archives in Berlin-Lichterfelde .

Rolf Funda is widowed and has two children.

Rolf Funda had been a member of the SED since 1959 and, after its conversion in 1990, the PDS. In his party, he was honorary chairman of the district executive and a district councilor since 1990. He was elected to the state parliament in the first state election in Saxony-Anhalt in 1990 via the state list.

From 1994 to 2003 he was mayor of Löderburg .
