Rolf G. Heinze

Rolf G. Heinze (born November 19, 1951 ) is a German professor of sociology and holder of the chair for general sociology, work and economics at the Ruhr University in Bochum .

Life

Heinze studied from 1971 at the University of Bielefeld , where he received his diploma in sociology in 1976. In 1979 the doctorate followed . He worked for several years as a research assistant at the University of Hamburg and Paderborn before he qualified as a professor in 1984 .

In the same year he was visiting professor for two semesters at the University of Osnabrück , and from 1986 to 1988 he worked as a professor of sociology at the University of Paderborn. From 1987 to 2011 he was a board member of the social policy section of the German Society for Sociology and since 1988 has held the chair for general sociology, work and economics at the Ruhr University in Bochum . From 1993 to 1996 he was dean of the Faculty of Social Science and from 2006 to 2008 a member of the Senate. Since September 2013 he has been visiting professor for life at Akdeniz University in Antalya (Department of Gerontology).

Since 1994 Prof. Heinze has been the executive scientific director of the Institute for Housing, Real Estate Management, Urban and Regional Development (InWIS) at the Ruhr University Bochum (RUB); since 1998 he has also been chairman of the advisory board of the Institute for Ergonomics at the RUB. From 2006 to 2011 Heinze was a member of the scientific advisory board of the Hans-Böckler-Stiftung and has been a member of the scientific advisory board of the Social Research Center (SfS) Dortmund since 2009 , since 2013 a member of the scientific advisory board of the ForschungsKollegSiegen (FoKoS) at the University of Siegen , the scientific advisory board of the German Center for Aging (DZA) in Berlin and the Bonn Academy for Research and Teaching of Practical Politics at the University of Bonn . From 2015 he is also a member of the scientific advisory board of the Institute for Social Movements of the Ruhr University Bochum and the foundation advisory board of the German Central Institute for Social Issues (DZI).

Heinze regularly participates in various research projects and acts as an advisor to ministries, associations and companies. From 2003 to 2005 he was a member of the Federal Government's Expert Commission for the Fifth Report on the Elderly on “Potentials of Aging in Business and Society” and from 1996 to 2000 a member of the Enquête Commission of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia on the subject of “The future of gainful employment”. From 1998 to 2002 he was a member of the "benchmarking group" of the " Alliance for Work " and a scientific advisor to the Federal Chancellery. In 2011/2012 Heinze was a member of the "Future Dialog" expert group of the Federal Chancellery (working group "Coexistence of Generations"). From 2012 to 2017 he was a member of the expert commission for the seventh report on the elderly of the federal government.
