Rolf Laute ( February 26, 1940 - July 10, 2013 ) was a German painter, graphic artist and art educator.

Life

Born on February 26, 1940, the son of an administrative director of the Evangelical Foundation Alsterdorf, Rolf Laute lived on the premises of what was then the Alsterdorf Institute. He started studying at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts in 1959, with Carl Heinz Wienert , Walter Arno and Klaus Bendixen , among others , and graduated in 1964 with an art education degree . Subsequently he held a teaching position for art education in Hamburg until 1967, and in 1969 took over the management of the private art school in Hamburg's Karolinenviertel . In 1972/73 he was a guest lecturer at the University of Fine Arts in Frankfurt.

Rolf Laute always wanted to enable artists to work independently and independently. It was always about artistic talent. He never understood the studio community as a place for art therapy.
