Rolf Mulka

Rolf Theodor Heinz Mulka (born November 23, 1927 in Hamburg ; † July 14, 2012 there ) was a German sailor.

In 1943 he became German youth champion in the pirate class . At the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne , he reached sixth place in Sharpie . In 1956 and 1957 he was world champion in the Flying Dutchman . In 1960 he and Ingo von Bredow won the bronze medal at the Summer Olympics in Rome .

For his sporting successes he and his partner Ingo von Bredow received the Silver Laurel Leaf on December 9, 1960 .

His father was Robert Mulka , adjutant in Auschwitz concentration camp, and his granddaughter is Friederike Belcher , an Olympian in London in 2012 .
