Von Bredow was unable to take part in the fourth race due to an injury, and Kadelbach stepped in as a substitute. In the rest days between the fourth and fifth races, von Bredow recovered enough that he could take part in the last three races. In the overall standings, the Norwegians Bjørn Bergvall and Peder Lunde Jr. won. before the Danes Hans Fogh and Ole Gunnar Petersen . Mulka and von Bredow received the bronze medal, substitute Kadelbach received no medal.

For his sporting successes, Ingo von Bredow received the Silver Laurel Leaf on September 9, 1960 with his partner Rolf Mulka .
