Friederike Belcher (born March 6, 1982 in Berlin ; née Ziegelmayer ) is a German sailor in the 470 class , in 2012 she qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London .

Life

Friederike Belcher completed her studies in sociology with the state examination . She starts for the North German Regatta Club and has been trained by Ruslana Taran since 2012 . Belcher comes from a successful family of sailors. Her grandfather Rolf Mulka took part in the Olympic Games as a sailor , as did her husband Mathew Belcher . The father Sebastian Zigelmayer missed as a partner of Willi cow pasture at the Olympic boycott in 1980 an Olympic participation. First she sailed in the Optimist class , then in the Filius class and the 420 dinghy , where she won silver at the German Championships in 2000 with her brother Ferdinand Ziegelmayer, silver medals at the Junior World Championships in 2003 and 2004, and bronze at the European Junior Championships in 2003 . In 2009 Kadelbach / Belcher became German champions. Then both devoted themselves to their studies and completed them by 2010. In Melbourne she won a World Cup on her return. At their next World Championships in 2010 in The Hague they were 14th, at the European Championships 2011 in Helsinki 15th and at the World Championships of the year in Perth 28th Despite the comparatively mediocre placement, the duo was able to achieve the result for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London to qualify. In Travemünde they also won the International German Championships. Things went better for Kadelbach / Belcher again at the 2012 World Championships in Barcelona , where they finished 12th.
