Rolf Nitzsche (born July 31, 1937 ) is a former German soccer player. For the SC Rotation Leipzig he played in 1959 and 1960 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

Until 1958 Rolf Nitzsche played in the company sports community (BSG) progress Pegau in the fifth class district class Leipzig . Shortly before the end of the season (calendar season), Leipzig coaches Alfred Kunze and Hans Studener appointed him to the trade fair cup team. With her he played together with players from SC Rotation and SC Lokomotive Leipzig in the first round of the Messestädte Cup 1958-1960 . The away game against Union Saint-Gilloise was lost 6-1, and after the 1-0 home win without Nitzsche, the Leipzig team were eliminated from the competition.

At the beginning of the 1959 season, SC Rotation officially took over the 21-year-old Rolf Nietzsche. He was immediately used on the first day of the league as a center forward. After that, however, he could not prevail in the team and was only called up sporadically in six point games in the first half of the season. After a long break, Nietzsche only played the last three league games again. On the last day of the match he shot his only league goal of the season. In 1960, the new coach Martin Braunert tried again from the beginning with Nietzsche. He seemed to have got off to a better start, scored a goal again on the second match day and played the first four league games as a striker over the full distance. After that Braunert did without the young player and only used him once for 35 minutes on the 16th matchday. It was Rolf Nitzsche's last game in high-class football.
