Conception "student-oriented teaching"

In his dissertation and in later publications, he developed his concept of student-oriented teaching for political education in schools and in adult education. Student-oriented teaching then builds on the students' social experiences. He dispenses with given, precisely defined learning goals in favor of a social-scientific analysis of problem areas that directly affect the students and which are in part brought in by themselves. The students are to be involved in all steps of the learning process as much as possible. Schmiederer's work contributed significantly to the profiling of the didactic principle of student orientation in political education .
