Rolf Schulmeister

Rolf Schulmeister (born May 16, 1943 in Hamburg ) is a German pedagogue and professor of pedagogy at the University of Hamburg .

Rolf Schulmeister studied German, English and philosophy from 1963 to 1969. He completed his studies in 1969 with a PhD. phil. from. He was a leader in the Federal Assistant Conference and founded the Interdisciplinary Center for University Didactics (IZHD) in 1970 , which today operates as a center for higher education and further education . Since 1976 he has been a professor at the University of Hamburg. Initially as a professor for university didactics with a focus on teaching technology (teaching and learning methods), then with a focus on multimedia development and multimedia didactics.

In 1987 he founded the Institute for Sign Language and Communication of the Deaf in the Department of Linguistics, since then he has been a double member of the Faculty of Language, Literature and Media. Since 1990 he has headed his institute, the former IZHD and today's center for higher education and further education , as managing director.

Since 1993 he has been involved in the Media Studies course at the Language, Literature and Media Faculty and since 2005 he has been responsible for the Master of Higher Education course at the University of Hamburg.

Schulmeister was the co-editor of the magazine for e-learning from 2006 to 2012 .

He heads the ZEITLast project, which examines the time management of students in BA / BSc and MA / MSc courses.
