Rolf Schumacher (* 1965 in Heidelberg ) is a German Ministerial Director and since July 2012 Ministerial Director in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Finance and Economics . The office corresponds to that of a permanent state secretary in other federal states.

Life

The son of an entrepreneur studied economics and business informatics at the University of Mannheim and graduated in 1994 with a degree in economics. From 1994 to 2000 Schumacher worked as a research assistant at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena at the Chair for General Economics - Macroeconomics .

Since 2001 he has been employed in various positions at the employment agency for more than ten years . He led from November 2007 to May 2009, the Employment Agency in Passau from mid-2009 to May 2012, nearly 3 years, the employment agency in Mannheim and was from May to June 2012, head of the Labor Agency in Göppingen .

Schumacher is divorced and has a daughter.

Political activity

The non-party Schumacher is considered an expert on labor market issues. Among other things, he is committed to ensuring that academics are not employed below their educational level. He is a member of the Baden-Württemberg Health Forum, advocates administrative efficiency and calls for a more efficient state.

He is a member of the supervisory board of the Center for European Economic Research in Mannheim. He has also been Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Technology and Innovation Center for Environmental Technology and Resource Efficiency Baden-Württemberg GmbH since July 31, 2012 .
