Rolf Theodor Bühler

Rolf Theodor Bühler (born December 3, 1903 in Bournemouth ; † November 30, 1992 in St. Gallen ) was a Swiss entrepreneur from the Bühler family and the Swiss National Council ( FDP ). He was co-owner of the Bühler brothers , today's Bühler AG .

Life

Rolf Bühler was the oldest of five children of Friedrich Theodor Bühler, the brother Adolf Bühler junior. , and Helene Mey. He was born in Bournemouth in 1903 when his parents were in England.

Bühler studied economics in Zurich and received his doctorate in 1933 on " Pig iron cartels in France" (Zurich 1934: Girsberger). In the same year he joined the family business run by his cousin René Bühler . As an FDP politician, he was on the Grand Council of St. Gallen from 1939 to 1942, and was also represented on the National Council from 1941 to 1943 and 1944 to 1947 . Politically, he was seen as the leading head of the young liberal movement, he campaigned against authoritarian movements in the 1930s and was President of Union Switzerland .

With his wife Sina Margaretha Heinz, Rolf Bühler had three children: Ursina, Rolf Andreas and Lorenz.
