Rolf Walter (born February 1, 1937 ) is a German mathematician .

Life

Walter was in 1963 when Martin Barner at the University of Freiburg with his dissertation two-dimensional surfaces over with osculating lines in four-dimensional affine space doctorate . He habilitated Also in 1968 in Freiburg with his habilitation -parameter to general and projective plane kinematics droves . From 1972 until his retirement he was professor for differential geometry at the TU Dortmund .

Among other things, he dealt with the differential geometry of surfaces in four-dimensional space (among other things in his dissertation), projective differential geometry and convexity and published textbooks on analysis , linear algebra and differential geometry.
