Rolfzen is a district of Steinheim in the district of Höxter , North Rhine-Westphalia and currently has 388 inhabitants.

history

Until it was incorporated on January 1, 1970, Rolfzen was an independent municipality in the Steinheim district .

Buildings

The Thienhausen castle was in 1609 in the style of the Weser Renaissance built and is now in private ownership. A crowned Madonna with the child is enthroned in the south gable .

The St. Marien Church is a 27 meter high church in the center of the village. It was built in 1906. Trade fairs are still held regularly today.

Personalities

Friedrich Wilhelm Weber lived in Thienhausen Castle for twenty years . There he wrote his work Dreizehnlinden . Annette von Droste-Hülshoff was often a guest of the Haxthausen family, who lived in the castle.
