history

Gut Vorder-Eichholz (around 1830)

The community Vordäumholz was created on January 1, 1964 through the merger of parts of the territory of the former communities Bergheim , Steinheim and Vinsebeck . On January 1, 1970, it was incorporated into the city of Steinheim.

Buildings

The manor house on the Vordereichholz manor was built in 1687 in place of an older moated castle; the builders were those of Oeynhausen . The round chapel was set up and consecrated in a former gate tower in 1658; it is equipped with a baroque altar . In 1737 the local branch of the Oeynhausen family died out and the estate was leased. This was followed by the von der Lippe zu Vinsebeck and from 1765 to 1953 the Count Wolff-Metternich zu Vinsebeck. The agricultural business with the manor house has belonged to the Lödige family, who used to manage it.

The Hintreichholz manor was also built by the Oeynhausen family after an inheritance was divided in 1612, and they died out here in 1716. This was followed by the von Weichs zur Wenne and in 1953 the Türich family as part of the land reform. The picturesque half-timbered mansion has a tower in front and a Renaissance portal from 1674. There is also a cube sundial .
