Romain Alessandrini (born April 3, 1989 in Marseille ) is a French football player .

Career

Alessandrini started playing at CA Plan-de-Cuques in 1996 as a junior player . Three years later he moved to Olympique Marseille , in order to play from 2005 in the youth team of the lower class club FC Gueugnon . In 2008 he was included in the first team that had recently been promoted to the Championnat de France National . In 2010 he received a professional contract with Ligue 2 club Clermont Foot from Auvergne and two years later in Ligue 1 with Stade Rennes . In 2014 he moved back to his youth club Olympique Marseille. Three years later he switched to LA Galaxy in the American Major League Soccer .

At the end of January 2013 Didier Deschamps nominated Alessandrini for the first time for the French national team . He was called up for the friendly against Germany on February 6, 2013 , but not used.
