Career

Roman Güntensperger played for FC Tuggen and FC Rapperswil-Jona in his youth and later moved to the youth department of FC Zurich and, at the age of 19, to the youth department of FC St. Gallen . For the 2011/12 season came the move to SC Kriens in the Challenge League , where they were in 15th place at the end of the season and were relegated to the newly founded 1st League Promotion . He then moved to the Challenge League competitor AC Bellinzona , where he signed a contract for two years. Just one season later, he tried to move abroad and signed a contract with the Turkish club Büyükşehir Gaziantepspor , where he came to only five appearances, two of them in the Turkish Football Cup . He scored a goal for his club in both the second and third round. After a coach change, Güntensperger was retired along with five other players in December 2013 and was subsequently without a club. For the new 2014/15 season he moved to FC Tuggen. A year later came the move to FC Rapperswil-Jona, with whom he made it to the Challenge League in the 2016/17 season .
