Roman Inderst

Roman Inderst (born April 13, 1970 ) is a German economist . He holds the Chair of Finance and Economics at the House of Finance at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.

Life

Inderst earned a BA in European Business Administration from ESB Reutlingen , an MA in Sociology from the University of Hagen and an MA in Economics from the Humboldt University in Berlin . He received his doctorate in 1998 from the Free University of Berlin and completed his habilitation in 2002 at the University of Mannheim . After stays as an assistant professor at the University of Mannheim, University College London and the London School of Economics (LSE), he researched and taught at the French business school Insead and at the LSE before moving to Frankfurt in 2006.

Due to his extensive publication activities, Inderst is one of the strongest research economists in German-speaking countries. In the Handelsblatt Economists Ranking, which has been analyzing the research performance of economists in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland based on the quality of publications since 2004, it regularly occupies top places. The latest economics ranking from 2013 lists him in the category Current research performance of the past five years in first place. In the evaluation of the life's work, Inderst is in third place.

Inderst is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
