Roman Schowkun is a former Ukrainian archery biathlete and cross-country skier .
Roman Schowkun achieved his first international success at the archery biathlon world championships in 2003 in Krün . At the side of Jurij Dmytrenko , Volodymir Osadchij and Sergej Michailenko behind the Russian and in front of the Slovenian relay the silver medals. A year later he repeated his success in Pokljuka and won the bronze medal with the Ukraine behind Russia and Slovenia in the line-up of Volodymir Osadchij, Anatoli Lebeda , Roman Schowkun and Sergej Michailenko. He finished sixth in the sprint, eighth in the pursuit race and ninth in the mass start.
In cross-country skiing, he took part in the Junior World Championships in Nordic skiing in 2000 and was 56th in the freestyle sprint in Štrbské Pleso . Over this distance he was 83 in Karpacz-Szklarska in 2001. In 2001 and 2002 he started in several FIS races .
