Roman Zitzelsberger

Roman Zitzelsberger (born August 30, 1966 in Ettlingen ) is a German trade unionist . Since December 2013 he has been the district manager of IG Metall Baden-Württemberg and thus the union's negotiator for collective bargaining agreements. Before that he was managing director of the IG Metall branch in Gaggenau .

Life

After finishing school with secondary school leaving certificate , he began training as a machine fitter in 1984 . Until 1989 he worked at the Daimler-Benz plant in Gaggenau . At the same time, he acquired the technical college entrance qualification at the mechanical engineering vocational college at the Carl Benz School in Gaggenau.

politics

He is a member of the SPD and was municipal councilor of Bietigheim / Baden until 2014 and has been a member of the state executive committee of the SPD Baden-Württemberg since 2015.

Trade unionists

During his training and afterwards he was a union shop steward and elected youth representative. In 1989 he moved to the IG Metall office in Gaggenau as a full-time union secretary. There he was elected 1st authorized representative (managing director) at the end of 2003.

At the end of 2013, he succeeded Jörg Hofmann in the office of district manager of IG Metall Baden-Württemberg and has since negotiated two pilot collective agreements for the metal and electrical industry (2015 and 2018).

Roman Zitzelsberger is a member of the supervisory boards of Daimler AG , MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH and Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG .

Roman Zitzelsberger has been married since 1991.
