Romane Dicko (born September 30, 1999 in Clamart ) is a French judoka . She won the European heavyweight title in 2018.

Athletic career

Romane Dicko won the 2016 European Cadet Championships. At the French championships she won in the adult class. In 2017 she became Junior European Champion. At the 2017 World Championships in the open class, she finished fifth after losing to Cuban Idalys Ortíz in the battle for bronze . At the beginning of April 2018, she won her first Grand Prix tournament in Tbilisi. At the end of April, at the European Championships 2018 in Tel Aviv, she defeated the Turkish Kayra Sayit in the quarter -finals, the Dutch Tessie Savelkouls in the semifinals and the Bosnian Larisa Cerić in the final .

After a long break from competition, Romane Dicko competed internationally again at the Grand Slam tournament in Osaka at the end of 2019 and lost her opening fight against the South Korean Kim Ha-yun . In early 2020, Romane Dicko first won the Grand Prix tournament in Tel Aviv. A fortnight later, she defeated the Ukrainian Maryna Sluzkaja in the final of the Grand Slam tournament in Paris .
