The Romance Bibliography (RB) is the only comprehensive specialist bibliography in Romance studies.

It records the bibliographical details of monographs, compilations and articles on Romance languages and literature, with the exception of French literature (no longer recorded since 1970).

The Romance Bibliography appears annually in a two-volume print edition (Volume I: Directories, Linguistics, Register; Volume II: Literary Studies) and also online (all volumes from 1965 to the current one; for volumes 1965–1997, the bibliographical information of the recorded reviews is also displayed).

Plant and structure

Both independent (monographs, editions, translations, anthologies) and dependent publications (journal articles, contributions to anthologies) are recorded, totaling several thousand titles per year. The individual entries are made accessible by a careful classification system (RB's own system key and additional keywording by means of a constantly updated and expanded list of key words). The first volume of the print version also contains the author, person and subject indexes, which enable a quick search without knowledge of the RB's own system key; the online version offers the possibility of complex search queries.
