Romanowsky staining

As a Romanowsky stain refers to the staining of blood parasites, particularly Plasmodium in the blood smear and " thick-drop " with a solution of eosin and methylene blue in methanol .

Today the Romanowsky staining is further developed as Giemsa-Romanowsky staining . Further variants are the Wright staining and the Pappenheim staining .
